Health & Fitness Friday

I have been working out lately and as you know it has not been dropping off any of my weight so I had to change my eating to a more clean eating. I had to cut out the I worked out so I can eat whatever I want.
I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories and I also put my workout into it too. When I do that I usually end up eating those calories that Ive worked out for and I stay under my 1200 calorie diet but I'm this week I decided to not enter my workout calories and still in my 1200 calorie range that way I would  not eat my workout calories and I would loose weight quicker. I'm not a patient person and the fact that this weight loss is not an over night deal drives me nuts. I would love to be able to go back to my surgeon and do some fat ass removing procedure but my budget isnt allowing that right now uhhh

My Journey
Before I begin I just want to say that as I was doing some blog reading I came across Megan @Skinny Meg and I stayed up way past my bedtime reading as I just fell in love OBSESSED over her blog I read so many weight loss blogs and they are mostly the same so I really cant explain why this particular blog spoke to  me but it did and I can explain it but it just clicked for me. For starters I was trying to stay into a mind of eat less weigh less but I came to realize that it doesn't work that way and now here is proof right in front of my eyes. Everything that I read just hit me like a ton of bricks and I soaked it all up and was so pumped to get my weight loss back on track.
My Changes:
Eat more but Eat Clean
Hit the Gym harder (Go Big or Go Home)
Its ok is if I know nothing about Fitness, Exercise, Clean Eating just keep trying and learning and I will get there
Have Fun {Most Important}
Its ok to be selfish and take as much time or work into my Heath

My Clean eating changes include
Grilled Pork Chops with salad
Grilled Chicken Salad
Turkey Wrap with baked chips
Blackened Mahi Mahi with grilled vegetables
Burger with Lettuce as a Bun
Grilled Chicken with Mashed Mock Potatoes
Left over grilled Chicken sprinkle of taco seasoning, lettuce, onion, dab of sour cream lite in a tortilla
Roast and Carrots it was so hard to not have any of the potatoes
Beef Stew without Cornbread which totally sucked
Eggs with turkey bacon and sugar free syrup

I have added Fruit to my diet Grapes and Apple and while putting them into MFP I saw how many sugars they had. WOW Does that count if you are trying to cut out sugars?
I hate Bananas but being that I have turned my workouts up I know I needed to Potassium in my body so I try and choke half of those down after every workout. Its so gross! I would love all the before and after workout food tips.

Laugh away all you want....I am not a runner and quite frankly I hate anything to do with running. I have never been a runner. I'm way to lazy for that. I got some information about running from one of my girls (I wished she still lived close instead of Baton Rouge) SO I thought I would give it a try being everyone just loves it and O how fun it is to be a runner...blah blah blah so let me see what I'm missing.
1. Come in with a good attitude
2. Try and if you fail try again until you finally succeed
3. It takes time I'm not going to be a runner overnight or in a week. Time give it Time
4.Baby Steps are key {well for me they are}
Before I started working out I could only run 45 seconds at a time now I thought I would give it a try. I came into the gym all pumped and did 35 minutes on the Elliptical then I moved to the treadmill to see if I could run O dear I thought. I started of walking at 4.0 then I took the plunge and moved it up to 6 Holy Hell I'm running I'm running I'm a damn runner Hellz yeaaaahhh then I quickly felt the burn when I looked I was at 1m3secs. Boooyahh Bitaches I moved up! From then on I knew that workout day was going to be awe-to-tha-MFn-some!

Love my Lululemon headband managed to grab this ebay find for 7.00 Holla
How much do you love my All abord the HotMess Express tank
Fake boobd and running dont mix so I have 2 tight sports bras on holding the swet puppies down

After finishing my 4 miles (usually do 2 or sometimes 3) I was on top of the world so I figured I would see how long I could last at a plank. I have never did a plank for exercise so this is new for me and I thought ok I can do this easy.... well let me tell ya now not as easy as it looks. I was dying but I wanted to hit the 30 second mark and Yay for me I did it. I think I am going to try to do a plank every other day and see how I can get my time longer.

All of this and in the last 2 weeks I have a big deal to celebrate I have lost 4 pounds. Whoop whoop
Cheers to the start of a successful weight loss journey. Now I have no excuses because I know now I can loose weight I just have to get off my lazy rump and get pumped.

  1. YAY KELLI! Good job! I miss working out. I used to go every day after work for an hour. I would run for a mile and walk a mile twice. Then do some free weights. I keep telling myself I need to get back on track, but I can't get motivated. Once my knee heels, I'm getting back in action! Keep up the great work boo!

  3. You go, girl!!! You totally hit that runners/workout high and were getting adventurous trying those planks! Planks are tough, I dont care who you are. So...love that tank, Im always looking for cute tanks for the gym, so Im gonna grab me one :) So Im a personal trainer, er a stay at home mom who has her PT certification lol, so I love the gym, but also know its freaking HARD work! As for post workouts, bananas are great! Also, think protein. So maybe a glass of nonfat/low fat chocolate milk, that's always a great reward and something to look forward to and its helps repair that body! Before workouts, whatcha eating? Think carb/protein. So like a piece of toast w/1 tablespoon of PB or an apple with PB to dip it in (1 tablespoon of course). If you like cottage cheese, thats another good one for after workouts :) Hope this helps, and keep on keepin on! XOXO your newest follower :)

  5. Way to go girl! Clean eating is the trick! I'm currently at a plateau, and can't seem to lose anymore, without eating rabbit food all day. I work out with what I have, but it just doesn't seem to be enough. I need to change something up!

  6. Glad to see a bit into your life changes! Thanks for sharing.

As for your mashed cauliflower, if you roast it, instead of boiling it, you'll get some even tastier flavors. You can also add some washed, peeled, and cooked celery root to the mix and it's even more delicious. If I had a recipe I'd share, but experimenting with real food is my favorite way to learn.

  7. Congrats! I love skinny Meg, she is the best! I agree, I don't know what's different about her but I feel like she just radiates positive vibes. I eat apples like there's no tomorrow. I have an apple with greek yogurt every morning for breakfast, I know people go rounds about whether or not to eat them, but personally I think the benefit that they have so much fiber outweighs the sugar debate. If I have two of them and dip them in the yogurt and drink a ton of water I am literally full til lunch. Plus they are natural, real food. First food that God talks about in the Bible so I figure if Adam and Eve ate it, then we should too! Unless of course there's a snake offering it to us, etc. ;)

  8. You are doing awesome Kelli! If you don't like bananas try cutting them up and freezing them. Pop into the blender with a little bit of milk or almond milk. It tastes just like ice cream.
